Blogging for students has many widespread benefits. It can be a way to brainstorm their inner thoughts about certain pieces of writing that we are going to attempt in the classroom. Another benefit is to go deeper with their own thoughts about current events, themes in novels, or mind jog topics. An additional benefit is a way for students to discuss and collaborate on project ideas, etc. I have seen this work firsthand in classrooms within our building. I think the benefits for students can also reach across the globe which will allow students to broaden their outlooks on many worthwhile topics. I am eager to try this with a friend of mine in Stockholm.
